1. INTRODUCTION

In the European Union, the General Regulation for Personal Data Protection has been in force since 25 May 2018 - EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter referred to as the "GDPR"). For the Regulation text please refer to the URL: https://eurlex.europa.eu/legal-content/EL/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32016R0679.

This Personal Data Protection Policy (hereinafter the "Data Policy" or "GDPR") refers to the Single Digital Gateway (hereinafter referred to as "the Gate") of the Ministry of Tourism (hereinafter referred to as "the Ministry"), operating under the domain name: mintour.gov.gr.

For this reason, the Ministry has elaborated this Personal Data Protection Policy in order to inform the above persons about the method of collecting, using and sharing their personal data.

1. PERSONAL DATA DEFINITIONS ((Note: Definitions according to article 4 of the GDPR)

"Personal Data": any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('Data Subject').

'Controller': a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

'Processor’: a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which processes personal data on behalf of the controller.

"Data Subject": the natural persons, for which the controller collects and processes personal data (for the purpose of this Data Policy, “Data Subjects” are the users of the present website, whether are identified, or not, for the use of a service).

‘Recipient’:: the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or another body, to which the personal data are disclosed, whether a third party or not.

The extraction of statistics regarding the use of the present website. In particular, the Data collected by the website and stored in a relevant database or in the Greek Public Sector data cloud (g-cloud), intended to be used for the purposes set out below, namely for:

  1. Easy and user-friendly operation of the 'website'.
  2. Improvement of the online experience during operation of the 'service
  3. Creation of statistical reports and graphs for the monitoring of the service.
  4. The information of statistical reports and graphs do not contain any personal data of "users", as they derive from anonymous information.

The Ministry of Tourism does not collect and process users' personal data.

1. "COOKIES" ARCHIVES POLICY

  1. General

The portal's website uses "Cookies" files (program – "treat") in compliance with the applicable legislation. "Cookies" are small pieces of information (files), in plain text format, stored on the user’s computer (or other devices with internet access, such as a smartphone or tablet) when visiting any page on the Internet.

"Cookies" do not cause any damage to the user's computer, nor in any of the stored files.

Without "Cookies" the user’s personal preferences would be impossible to store.

"Cookies" help collect information necessary for measuring the effectiveness of a website, improving and upgrading its content, helping a website adapt to the demands and needs of users as well as measuring the effectiveness of the website’s presentation and visibility to third-party websites. "Cookies" used on the website do not collect information that identifies users personally and do not acknowledge any document or file from the users' computer.

The information collected by "Cookies" may include the user’s type of browser, the brand and type of the user’s computer, its operating system, internet providers and other such information. In addition, the information system of the website automatically collects information regarding the sites visited by the user, and links to third-party websites that may be located on the portal's website.

The Portal’s website, like all websites, uses cookies to ensure its smooth operation as well as the user’s maximum satisfaction. The four categories used are set out as follows:

Α) Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary Cookies are essential for the user to browse a website, help to make the website usable, enabling basic functions such as navigation and access to secure areas of the website. The website cannot operate properly without these cookies.

Β) Preference Cookies

Preference Cookies allow the website to remember information that changes the way the web page behaves or its appearance, such as the user’s preferred language or region in which the user is located.

Γ) Statistics Cookies

Statistics cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with pages by collecting and reporting information anonymously.

1. How to manage and delete "Cookies"

The menus of most browsers provide options on how to manage "Cookies". Depending on the options provided by the browser, the user can allow the installation of Cookies, disable/delete existing Cookies, or be notified each time new Cookies are received.
